A very finely carved huangyangmu, or boxwood, figure of Guanyin seated on a rock, both hands resting on the raised right knee, the left hand holding a scroll, wearing a jewelled robe and long scarf which fall in folds over the rockwork.
(two splits to the base extending 3-4 cms into the rockwork. Small split to one part of the scarf - see images)
