A very rare Chinese sancai pottery figure of a horse and rider, the horse with head turned to the left and glazed in a rich amber with cream glazed head and mane, the rider with streaked dark blue glaze.

Damage and neat repair to the neck, four legs, rider’s waist and both arms.

Provenance: From the estate of Anne Moen Bullitt (1924 – 2007).

Anne Bullitt was an American heiress, beauty and daughter of a senior diplomat who later in life became Ireland’s first female horse breeder.
